History of Food Security Council 

The Council was created in 2001 with the merger of the Montana Hunger Coalition and the Montana Food Bank Network (MFBN).  The Montana Hunger Coalition was made up of community people and service providers state-wide. 

In order to maintain the continuity and consistency of the work accomplished by the Montana Hunger Coalition, the Food Security Council and the Public Policy Department of MFBN were created.  The Food Security Council and the Public Policy Department collarborate to pursue commons goals and projects.
