Hungry in Montana 2008
The demand for emergency food has been increasing at food pantries and feeding sites that are served by MFBN. The 2008 year saw the most significant increase in client food needs, largely due to soaring costs of food and fuel. This is our 3rd study that attempts to understand the underlying reasons for the increase of hunger in Montana. The survey was completed by 342 emergency food pantry clients at 7 food pantries.
Take a look at Hungry in Montana 2008 to learn more about why hunger exists, reasons that clients seek emergency food, difficult choices clients make regarding where to spend their limited dollars, the prevalence of skipping meals among adults and children, participation in public food programs and personal stories of challenges faced.
