Montana Shares is a partnership of statewide nonprofit organizations that work together to address issues concerning health and hunger, women and families, poverty, the environment, sustainable agriculture and energy, domestic and wild animals, community arts, culture heritage, social justice and human rights. As a statewide organization, the MFBN is not eligible for United Way funding. Our participation with Montana Shares allows us to participate in a workplace giving campaign. In the 2008-2009 Montana Shares workplace giving campaign 39 member organizations were represented. Montana Shares is uniquely donor-driven in that donors choose where they want their gifts to go. Eighty-five percent of the money designated will be presented to that group or groups-and ALL of the money will stay in Montana to benefit Montanans.
